As one of the best tennis players to ever play the game, Stan Smith has joking referred to the fact that people know of his shoe more than they do his history in tennis. With a career that can be best described as dominant, winning 36 singles titles along with #1 world ranking. He also won a handful of doubles titles with fellow American partner Bob Lutz, all of that and a successful signature shoe in the pre-Jordan era.

As the Australian Open is in full effect, the highly anticipated Stan Smith re-release is here, commemorating his three Australian Open singles titles (1970, 1975, 1977) and 1970 doubles victory.

The adidas Stan Smith was first released in 1973. As the first leather tennis shoe to ever hit the court, the shoe will make a return in the original white and green colorway with a leather upper, with additional red and navy options.

The adidas Stan Smith is now available at adidas online.
