Sole Collector Reminds Us of Our Favorite (Weirdest) Sneaker Commercials

The phrase “They sure don’t make ‘em like they used to anymore,” applies to a lot of things these days, including advertising. Lets face it, sneaker commercials today are sort of a snooze compared to what they used to be in the nineties. Before the 2000′s came and hip hop dominated the sneaker commercial landscape, the nineties were a gold mine in terrible gimmicks, strange story lines and unintentional comedy (not to mention the horrible quality of the ads).

Our friends over at Sole Collector have rounded up some of the best commercials from the strange era that was the nineties with a few early 2000s spots added in. Take a look at this gem from Converse for the Magic Johnson Triple Double shoe and then head over to Sole Collector and check out the rest.
