Ronaldo took to Instagram this morning to post this picture of him slicing an underwear cake in honor of the one year anniversary of his CR7 underwear line. We didn't know that this was a cake-appropriate occasion, but kudos to Cristiano and his drawers for a successful first year.
With the recent news that Kevin Durant is getting his own underwear line with Neff to rival that of teammate Russell Westbrook's, we have to ask the question: is underwear the next frontier for athlete endorsements? Going back to Jim Palmer and his Jockeys, athletes have always served as underwear pitchmen. However, the recent boom in signature underwear lines suggests that this trend isn't going anywhere soon, meaning that there may be more underwear cakes to cut in the near future.
