If you're the "I’m the type to swallow my blood ‘fore I swallow my pride" type of athlete, we've got your new favorite read.

50 Cent of lines like the above and "If I can't do it, homie, it can't be done," is taking his tough mantras into the world of fitness. Welcome Curtis Jackson's first instructional book, co-written by the editor-in-chief of BodyBuilding, Jeff O'Connell.

Jackson stopped by the Today Show yesterday morning to talk his workout inspiration and background and reveal his book, Formula 50: A 6-Week Total Body Transformation Plan. He explains the idea behind the book's two-part program: one for novices, and one for advanced athletes. The six-week program mixes workout instructions with tips on maintaining a healthy diet. It puts an emphasis on metabolic resistance training (MRT), which 50 says has been one of the key factors in maintaining his physique.
