Bet you’ve never seen a Kinvara like this before.

This Spring, along with the much-anticipated release of the Kinvara 4, running specialty brand Saucony is set to release a Gore-TEX version of the uber popular neutral running sneaker for the first time ever—the Kinvara 4 GTX.

The GTX is pretty similar to the traditional version of the Kinvara 4, with the main difference being its all-weather capability thanks to a Gore-TEX construction. The move to introduce the weatherproof technology to its most successful running sneaker series is a big one for Saucony, as it will give runners a viable option for those wet and rainy days. Along with the Gore-TEX, the Kinvara 4 GTX will feature an upgraded PowerGrid heel insert for better overall cushioning, and the FlexFilf overlays on the upper for breathability.

We’ll have more on the Kinvara 4 GTX in due time. Release date for the shoe is expected to be May 1, 2013.
