Nike Golf Just Signed a 21-Year-Old Golfer and His Instagram is a Snooze-Fest

Nike just bolstered up it’s already impressive roster of golfers by signing former Stanford athlete and No.1-ranked amateur in the world Patrick Rodgers.

The 21-year-old Rodgers recently was recently named the winner of the 2014 Haskins Award, given to the outstanding collegiate male golfer of the year, as well as this year’s Ben Hogan Award and Jack Nicklaus Award. With all these prestigous titles, it’s no surprise Nike signed Rodgers to a multi-year deal to rep the Swoosh from head-to-toe including outfitting him with the latest clubs, ball, footwear, glove, bag, apparel, headwear and accessories.

However, Rodgers should probably stick to golf, as his career as an amateur photographer through his Instagram leaves much to be desired to say the least. Bland golf course shots, and generic landscapes fill out his page and look more like the tear out ads from golfer’s digest instead of Nike’s youngest emerging golf star. Not to knock the 21-year-old as he is still young and has a long career ahead of him that will certainly land him more enticing photo ops then screenshoting the current weather in Stanford.

Keep an eye out for the three-time NCAA Division I All-American and 2014 PAC-12 Player of the Year at Stanford University as he begins his professional career outfitted with Nike VRS Covert 2.0 driver,  Nike VR Pro Blades irons, and the Lunar Control golf shoes. One can only hope his career on the course is more exciting then his Instagram.
