The Elastico Superfly IC brings all the cutting-edge technology from Nike's unprecedented Mercurial Superfly soccer boot to the court. With an almost identical upper to the Mercurial Superfly, the Elastico Superfly is distinctly low-profile to improve traction and speed on the hard surface. According to former Portland Thorns and USWNT player Marian Dougherty, the shoe's flexibility and short distance to the ground are intended to create the sensation of playing barefooted.
"The innovation this year from Nike Football has been unprecedented. But our players want innovation for every kind of football they play so we took the design insights developed with Cristiano Ronaldo for the Mercurial Superfly and brought them into the small-sided game with the Elastico Superfly,” said Denis Dekovic, Design Director of Nike Football.
In addition to its likeness to the Mercurial Superfly, the Elastico Superfly IC features an extra layer of Nike Skin to supply extra cushioning to areas where small-sided players experience additional abrasion.
The Elastico Superfly IC will be available at Nike.com on June 10 just in time for World Cup fever.
